Pomona College Recognized for Low Debt Among Recent Grads
Graduates of the Pomona College Class of 2011 are among those with the lowest average student loan debt, according to a report this week by the Oakland-based Institute for College Access and Success. Their annual Report on Student Debt [pdf] lists Pomona College among the 20 colleges whose students graduate with the least amount of student loan debt.
Pomona has long met the full financial aid need of every accepted student. In 2008, the College implemented a policy of meeting full financial aid need with scholarships and a small amount of work study funds.
A Los Angeles Times story focused on California schools and CBS Money Watch included lists of both the “low-debt” colleges, “high-debt” private nonprofit colleges and “high-debt” public colleges and universities.
