Ibsen's "A Doll's House" Performances at Pomona College

Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House will be performed at Pomona College Thursday, Nov. 15- Sunday, Nov. 18 at Pomona College (Seaver Theatre, 300 E. Bonita Ave., Claremont). The performances will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday – Saturday and 2 p.m on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for students, faculty, staff and seniors.

Ibsen’s A Doll’s House (1879), a critique of men’s and women’s roles in 19th-century marriage, set theatre in a new, modern direction, with its themes of change, independence and the struggle to face reality and become a full human being. In the play, the character Nora must mature by leaving comfortable illusions and lies of childhood dollhouses.

Pomona College Professor of Theatre Leonard Pronko is the director. Visit http://theatre.pomona.edu/2012/11/a-doll-house-video-interview/ to view a video interview with him about the play.
