Mary Ellen Kilsby '56, Former Minister and Pomona College Supporter, Has Died
Mary Ellen Kilsby '56, former president of the Pomona College Alumni Association and steadfast Pomona College supporter, known for her energy, quick wit and ready smile, died January 4. Two celebrations of her life are planned: January 19, at 2 p.m., at First Congregational Church in Long Beach; and January 20, at 4 pm, in the Claremont United Church of Christ.
Kilsby, who was married to Graham "Bud" Kilsby ’55, was an active volunteer for the College, serving as president of the Pomona College Alumni Association; a member of the Alumni Council, chairing the student alumni relations committee; and as a member of five class reunion fund committees. In 2009, she established the Graham “Bud” ’55 and Mary Ellen ’56 Endowed Fund for Student Interns at the Pomona College Museum of Art. Her Daily Bulletin obituary can be found here.
