Pomona College's Food Rescue Program and the national Food Recovery Network were featured by Los Angeles Times business writer David Lazarus in his April 2 column "Hungry for a group to deliver leftover food to charities."

Pomona's Food Rescue is a student-run program that works with dining hall employees to package leftovers and take them to Inland Valley Hope Partners, a local homeless shelter. During 2010-11, 16 volunteers with Pomona's Food Rescue program delivered 526 large trays and 712 half trays of prepared food.
