Earth Day flyer

The Claremont Earth Day Celebration, on Saturday, April 20, from 10 am – 3 pm, will include a full day of band performances, 82 vendors, speakers and tours of Claremont Colleges sustainability features, and the whole earth building at Uncommon Good.

Pomona College is a sponsor of the event and will be well represented with booths for the Pomona College Sustainability Office, the student group Pomona for Environmental Activism and Responsibility (PEAR) and representatives from the Pomona College Organic Farm.

The Claremont Colleges tours will include all campuses and feature the depth and breadth of their green initiatives. The electric cart tours will leave from 2nd Street and Yale at 10:30 am, 11:30 am and 2 pm, with space for 12. The one-hour tours will cover the native plantings and drought tolerant landscape strategies of the Colleges, compost and gardening efforts, solar arrays, state of the art LEED facilities, waste reduction efforts, car sharing programs, EV stations and much more.

The Celebration will take place on 2nd St. from Yale across Indian Hill to Oberlin. For social media users, this weekend's Earth Day Hashtag will be #ClaremontEarthDay and you can follow Sustainable Claremont at http://www.twitter.com/GreenClaremont.
