Phonecast: The Supreme Court and the Future of the Constitution
On September 16, 2013, alumni were treated to a Community Phonecast with Professors of Politics David Menefee-Libey and Amanda Hollis-Brusky on the topic of "The Supreme Court and Future of the Constitution."
The event was piloted among all California-based alumni, and more than 4,500 members of the Pomona College community were invited to listen in to the live broadcast. Similar to a radio call-in show, the alumni audience asked questions and engaged in a dialogue with the professors.
The discussion focused on broad themes that emerged from the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent sessions and landmark decisions on voting rights, health care, affirmative action and same-sex marriage.
Said Anne Thacher ’75, “I thoroughly enjoyed [Monday’s] conversation with Amanda and David and I look forward to other such conversations. This one was especially interesting for me as a government major at Pomona. I wish I could take a class from both of them!”
