Pomona-Pitzer wrapped up its pre-holidays athletic competition this week, with the big news coming from the pool in Commerce, California.

Starting last August and into the fall, approximately 20 student volunteers worked with Farm Manager Adam Long '13 to construct a new greenhouse on Pomona's Organic Farm. The previous greenhouse was 10 years old and was "was falling apart," according to Long.

This week in Pomona-Pitzer Athletics saw the winter sports go undefeated in the first week of SCIAC play, with Men's Basketball and Women's Basketball both sweeping Cal Lutheran and Caltech, and Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving opening up with home wins over Cal Lutheran.

It was a bit of a quiet week for Pomona-Pitzer Athletics but a plenty exciting one as the Men's Basketball team won the unofficial tournament championship as the only team with a 2-0 record, while the Women's Basketball team picked up its first win of the year.

The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Cross Country team won the NCAA West Regional championship for the first time since 1982, and the Men's Basketball team started the season with a win over nationally ranked St. Thomas (Minn.) to highlight this week's action.
