Stanley Academic Quad

Pomona College ranked No. 8 on the Forbes "America’s Top Colleges 2014" list released on July 30. Pomona was also ranked No. 2 in the West and No. 25 in Grateful Grads.

The overall rankings were based on five general categories: student satisfaction, post-graduate success, student debt, graduation rate and academic success (including competitive awards, like the Rhodes, Marshall and Fulbright fellowships).

“Of the indicators expressing student satisfaction and school efficacy,” the story notes, “the top 10 schools enjoy the highest retention rates (no less than 95%) and some of the most formidable 4-year graduation rates in the country: Williams at 96% and Yale and Pomona at 89%.”

Rounding out the top 10, in order from No. 1, are Williams College, Stanford University, Swarthmore College, Princeton University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yale University, Harvard University, U.S. Military Academy and Amherst College.

Pomona College meets the full financial aid need of each accepted student with financial aid packages that do not include loans.
