Pomona has hosted College Bound programs for nine years
during which the number of families participating in College
Bound classes and seminars on campus has grown from a
handful to close to 250. To address needs of Southern
California families, College Bound offers numerous programs,
including Saturday School at Pomona College, as well as
Loyola Marymount University. During the academic year,
students and their parents from all the Inland Empire and
San Gabriel Valley participate in seminars held on the
Pomona College campus to learn about the college application
process, admissions requirements and financial aid. In
addition, 4th- through 12th-grade students take classes
literature and composition, communication (written and
oral), math and test-taking skills while their parents
attend classes, taught by community leaders, on academic
competitiveness, parental rights in public and private
schools, financial planning and conflict resolution.
The Office of Community and Multicultural Programs supports
College Bound through the provision of meeting space,
speakers and other workshops.
