PBI Announces Founding Sponsorship of iFilm Connections: Asia and Pacific

PBI Partners with iFilm Connections
The Pacific Basin Institute (PBI) at Pomona College announced they are a founding sponsor of iFilm Connections: Asia & Pacific. iFilm Connections: Asia & Pacific is a Web site that seeks to create a deeper understanding of Asian and Pacific Island film cultures by providing comprehensive information about contemporary feature films from these areas.

As a founding sponsor, students, faculty, and staff at Pomona College will have unlimited access to iFilm’s Web site content. iFilm Connections: Asia & Pacific offers faculty, students, film leaders, and the interested public a way to stream carefully selected feature films that can be used to intelligently analyze the impact of globalization on the diverse cultures of Asia and the Pacific.

Specific features of iFilm Connections: Asia & Pacific include an online film festival, a searchable database of feature films, overviews on film history, in-depth analysis of significant feature films, and educational materials for use in university classrooms. 

How to Access iFilm Connections: Asia and Pacific
Student, Faculty, and Staff may access content from asianfilms.org anywhere on campus.  The material may also be accessed off-campus through VPN.  Instructions for VPN can be found on the ITS site.  Once VPN is configured and you are connected to the campus network, browse to asianfilms.org and all content will be accessible without login.
