Services/Programs: Living Room/Fireplace Lounge

In the history of Edmunds Union, the Fireplace Lounge was always associated with the Ballroom. This large and comfortable lounge with its enormous wood-burning fireplace, was the entryway to the Ballroom. For decades it also served as a lounge, meeting room and gathering point. When the Smith Campus Center was being designed, the re-creation of the fireplace lounge was a natural addition. With the 2006 renovation, the Fireplace Lounge was incorporated into the Living Room. The comfortable furniture, email check stations, large flat-panel television, daily newspapers and weekly magazines, make it feel like home. Students frequently curl-up with a good book, take a nap, or catch up on the NY Times Crossword puzzle.
