most suits your desires and abilities. These descriptions are not intended as
comprehensive itineraries and are subject to change.

Culturally diverse, rich with sun, and always
entertaining, Southern California offers a great deal to
visitors and residents alike. From the sunny beaches
along the coast to the museums and cultural attractions
inland, you can always find something fun to do.
On
the SoCal Adventure trips, you’ll tour the city and get to know some of the
resources that surround your new home at college. Your SoCal trip will either
have an “arts and culture” or “entertainment” focus, depending on the preference
you express when you sign up. All trips will visit Santa Monica or Venice
beach, a theme park, and the magnificent Getty Museum. The arts and culture
trip will also visit other museums and galleries and attend cultural events in
the city, while the entertainment groups may visit a second theme park or go to
a comedy club. Trips may also visit famous Los Angeles neighborhoods such as
Little Tokyo, Chinatown, and Olvera Street, grab a Dodger dog at Dodger Stadium,
and attend concerts in the evening. Activities are subject to change based on
availability.
After a long, 12-16 hour day, you will return to your dorm at Pomona. There,
your group can cook dinner, have a campfire at the Wash, share stories, and
bond. This is the perfect trip for someone who wants an urban experience with a
higher degree of comfort than camping allows.
Southern California/Community Service Hybrid Adventure
Eager to see L.A. and also lend a hand to those in need? The SoCal/CommServ
Adventure enjoys an itinerary that combines aspects of community service with
the recreational activities of the SoCal trip. You will visit a theme park
visit, time at the beach, a trip to the Getty, an evening activity in the city,
and several community service activities. This separate group pursues their own
itinerary apart from the SoCal and CommServ groups.
