Arriving on Campus
New students must arrive at Pomona College on Sunday, August 24, between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. During your first day on campus, you will have the opportunity to move into your dorm room and meet your sponsors; parents orientation will also take place on Sunday. Orientation Adventure leaders and Residence Hall Sponsors will be on hand to check you in and help out with moving. Your morning will be free to begin decorating and settling into your new room. Following Placement Exams on Monday, your sponsors will lead you down to the Sontag Greek Theater, where you will be introduced to your OA leaders and the other participants in your trip. After dinner, students can participate in organized games and make any remaining preparations for their trip. A reasonably early bedtime is recommended, as some trips will leave before dawn on Tuesday.
The Orientation Adventure trip is the centerpiece of a week of activities designed to help first-year students make friends and transition into college life.
There will be a parents' orientation program beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday, August 24. See the complete Parents Orientation schedule for more details.
