Thanks to the hard work of Chelsea Hodge '09, Pomona has a
variety of programs for reducing the water and energy use of
doing laundry on campus. Chelsea has done a fantastic job of
getting laundry racks installed in many of the residence
hall laundry rooms, incorporating laundry racks into
residence hall renovation and construction designs, and
starting a program with racks for use in students' rooms
free of charge (see more about this checkout process
here).
Working with the non-profit Project Laundry List, Chelsea
has written a fantastic white paper about incorporating
green laundry practices into campuses, using Pomona as a
