Computer Science Department Facilities

The Computer Science Department at Pomona is housed on the second floor of the Edmunds Building, which first opened in January 2007. Edmunds contains faculty offices, classrooms, and computer labs for Geology, Computer Science, and Cognitive Science and Linguistics.

Computer Facilities

  • The gateway to Pomona CS server resources,, is a virtual machine running Ubuntu. It allows students to access their files remotely.
  • Edmunds 227, the main CS lab, houses 16 iMacs with accompanying Dell Ultrasharp monitors, running Mac OS High Sierra. This is where Pomona CS majors usually do most of their work (often in the wee hours of the morning).
  • Edmunds 229 is the main computer classroom. It contains twenty iMac workstations, and is equipped with state-of-the-art computer projection facilities. It is used exclusively for teaching Computer Science courses.
