Pomona CDO Peer Advisors- Who are we?
Autumn is a senior from St. Louis, Missouri. As a Philosophy, Politics, and Economics major, she originally thought she had no choice but to pursue a law degree. However, she has interned in various industries including Diversity and Inclusion, legal, government, tech, and finance. After experiencing many different work environments, she has chosen to pursue a career in banking regulation.
At Pomona, Autumn has been involved in RHS as an RA, and served for two years on the Student Affairs Committee. She is currently a Head Sponsor and a Judicial Council Chair. In her free time, Autumn loves listening to music, brunching with friends and binging Netflix. She keeps active through boxing, Pilates, and yoga.
Calder is a sophomore from Kansas studying Gender Studies and Pre-Health. She hopes to pursue a career in women's health, increasing the accessibility and quality of reproductive healthcare. When she's not working at the CDO, reading gender theory, or at lab, she also competes on the Pomona-Pitzer XC team. She enjoys going on hikes, exploring LA, and drinking apple cider from Some Crust. Her favorite parts of working at the CDO are critiquing résumés, giving pre-health job advice, and the free tea.
José is a sophomore Public Policy Analysis-Economics major. He is originally from the Southwest Side of Chicago and is interested in management consulting and financial services. During his free time, José likes to spend time with friends, work out, and watch countless episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine while eating good food.
Fun fact: José has a Hahns Macaw named Prettybird who loves to say "massage" while being petted.
Nina is a Beijing-born Canadian who calls China, Canada, and the United States home. She is a senior at Pomona College majoring in International Relations and minoring in Asian Studies. Nina is currently a liaison for the International Relations program and an ISMP mentor. Her hobbies include horseback riding, figure skating, and enjoying good food. Nina has interned for foreign policy think tanks, NGOs, and education institutions. She is currently exploring a post-graduate career in education, with particular interest in equal access, global citizenship, and cross-cultural pedagogy.
Wesley is a sophomore economics major from Pasadena, California. As an economics major, he has interned for companies in Europe and Asia, where he saw how businesses operate globally. Wesley is also an economics cohort mentor, assisting a group of first year first-generation/low income students with their transition into Pomona College. He plans on pursing a finance oriented career, analyzing tomorrow’s up-and-coming markets and businesses.
Wesley is a competitive swimmer and is on the Pomona-Pitzer Varsity Swim and Dive Team. He also enjoys playing intramural sports such as inner-tube water polo.
