Semester & Summer Experience
The Career Development Office offers two distinguished internship programs — The Pomona College Internship Program (PCIP Semester) and Summer Experience (PCIP Summer Experience). Both programs aid students in the process of exploring and determining a career path, gain a rich understanding of a particular field and/or organization, build and grow their professional networks, and enhance the understanding of how their liberal arts education will be applied in a professional work environment.
Micro-Internships are short-term, paid, professional assignments that are similar to those given to new hires or interns. These projects enable Career Launchers to demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and build their networks as they seek the right full-time role. Unlike traditional internships, Micro-Internships can take place year-round, typically range from 5 to 40 hours of work, and are due between one week and one month after kick-off. Micro-Internships are used by companies ranging from those in the Fortune 100 to emerging start-ups, and go across departments including sales, marketing, technology, HR, and finance.
Students who are not participating in the Pomona College Internship Program (PCIP), but are participating in a semester internship, may be eligible for an Internship Transcript Notation.
The CDO has compiled an extensive list of housing resources and opportunities in major cities throughout the US to help you find reliable housing for your summer internship.
