I lost my ID card. Where can I replace it?

The Academic Calendar also has a three-year planning calendar that provides information on residence hall openings and closings and breaks.

The Housing and Residence Life Office, in the basement of the Smith Campus Center, can replace your lost or stolen ID card. Office hours are 8 a.m. - noon, then 1 - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. There is a $15 charge for replacement IDs.

I lost my room key. How do I get a new one?

New keys can be ordered at the Office of Housing and Residence Life, in the basement of the Smith Campus Center.  Hours are 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., then 1 - 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday. There is a $75 fee, and the lock must be changed for security purposes. If you live in a double, two keys must be made, but the fee remains the same.

I lost my mailbox key. How do I get a new one?

Mailbox keys are given out from the student mail room. Replacement keys are $25. The student mailroom is located on the first floor of the Smith Campus Center.

Something does not work in my room. Who can I contact?

During business hours, call the maintenance department at (909) 607-2236, or use their online system, http://workorder.pomona.edu. After hours, in an emergency, contact Campus Safety at (909) 607-2000 or (909) 607-7233. 

Fall 2018 Semester Questions

When can I arrive on campus?

New students (first-year and transfers) can check into the residence hall beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 25. (More information on our New Student website.) For returning students, the residence halls open at 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 1. Classes begin on Tuesday, September 4.

If I am on the deferred housing list, when can I expect to hear about my housing assignment?

All those not yet housed will be assigned sometime mid-August and will be notified through their Pomona email.

Can I ship packages ahead of time prior to arriving on campus?

Students may ship packages, boxes, etc. to themselves at their campus address. Items cannot be received before August 8. Items received will be held at a special receiving area on campus (Mudd Lounge, in Mudd-Blaisdell hall) for the students to claim them when they arrive.

When is Fall Break?

Begins after the last class on Friday, October 22. It ends at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24. Residence halls and dining halls will be open.

When is Thanksgiving Recess?

Thanksgiving break begins after the last class on Tuesday, November 20. It ends at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 26. Residence halls are open. One dining hall will be open for the entire Consortium, with limited holiday hours.

When do the residence halls close in December?

Residence Halls close at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22. Everyone must leave by that time. There is no housing available during semester break.

Spring 2019 Questions

When do the residence halls open in January 2019?

Residence Halls open at 8 am, Sunday, January 20. Classes begin on Tuesday, January 22.

When is Family Weekend?

Family Weekend will be February 15 - 17.

When is Spring Break 2019?

Begins after the last class on Friday, March 15, and ends at 8 a.m., Monday, March 25. Residence halls will be open, however, dining halls will be closed.

When do the residence halls close in May 2018?

Residence Halls close at 12 p.m., Monday, May 20. All rooms must be vacated at that time. Commencement is Sunday, May 19.
