Anna Jacobsen

ITS is excited to welcome Anna Jacobsen to the position of Technical Communications Manager. As the Technical Communications Manager, Anna will be instrumental in the development of a strategic communication plan for ITS. As ITS moves forward with progress on multiple projects, expect to see Anna playing a key role in the implementation of the new student information system by serving as the main communications link between the overall implementation and Pomona College. Anna will also manage communications strategies for other small scale ITS projects. 

Anna brings with her an extensive background in communications and holds master’s degrees in Public Administration and Urban Planning from the University of Southern California. Anna has worked in nonprofit management, is a published researcher on changing population dynamics, and has helped to lead the City of Pasadena in successfully curtailing rising homelessness. Prior to joining Pomona College, Anna worked as a homeless service program coordinator for the City of Pasadena where, in addition to developing policy, managing program evaluations and grants, she implemented a cross-jurisdictional information system for homeless service providers and policy makers. 

In her free time, Anna enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with her two young boys, husband and dog. She continues to be involved in advocacy work for people experiencing homelessness and has co-founded a startup, My Jobshare, which aims to create more diverse and equitable workplaces that offer better work/life balance for all.
