Pomona College ITS is hosting a 3-day course in Tableau desktop fundamentals that is open to all consortia participants! This is a fantastic opportunity if your work involves managing data of any kind, and is accessible to anyone regardless of your technical or analytical background. This is a 4-day course condensed into 3 days that will be taught by Tableau representatives and will take you through to an intermediate level in Tableau operation. The experience includes a workbook for practicing all key concepts covered as well as plenty of hands-on activities. By the end of the course, you will feel comfortable using Tableau for a variety of organization and computational tasks, as well as creating Tableau dashboards with which to share data visualizations such as cross tabs, heat maps, scatter plots, tree maps, and even dual axis charts.
The course will run from October 23rd through the 25th, from 8:30AM to 4:30PM, and will be held in the classroom of the Pomona College Cowart ITS Building. Breakfast and afternoon snacks will be available for all participants. The cost for the course is $1200 per person. Please note, upon class completion, non-Pomona participants will be invoiced and Pomona departments will receive a charge-back for course costs. PC’s and a trial of Tableau will be provided for all participants; if you would like to bring your own laptop to work on, please make sure that you have the administrative rights to install new software on it. Additionally, Pomona participants will receive a full Tableau license.
There are currently four spots open in the course, which is intended to have 15 participants in total. If you’re interested in signing up for the course and/or would like more information, please reach out to Kristina Sheri Khederlarian, Kristina.Khederlarian@pomona.edu. Course descriptions with more detailed information about the content that will be covered are available upon request. We hope to see you there!
