COVID-19 Update (9/26/22)

Dear Faculty and Staff,

We are writing with a quick COVID-19 update. Trends in Los Angeles County are moving in a positive direction, with case and hospitalization rates continuing to decline. Here at Pomona, the rate of cases remains stable.

We do want to be vigilant, however, and provide resources for our community to support public health for all.

The new bivalent vaccine booster is available to students at Student Health Services or by making an appointment online at for local pharmacies through the state public health website. Staff and faculty can find many local appointment options through that state website as well.

While campus COVID-19 testing is now voluntary in most cases, we do want to remind staff and faculty that testing is available at the Hamilton Health Box clinic at 118 8th Street during the following hours:

  • Tuesday: 8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
  • Thursday: 2 p.m.- 3:30 p.m.

Testing also is available by appointment by contacting Nurse Stephanie Garcia-Barragan (stephanie.garcia-barragan@pomona.edu) in the Hamilton Health Box clinic. If you have COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive through another source, such as your doctor or a home test, please let Garcia-Barragan know immediately.

Thank you,

Melanie Wu – VP/Dean of the College

Bob Robinson – AVP – Facilities and Campus Services
