LA County Reaches High COVID Transmission (7/15/22)

Dear Pomona College Community,

Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced yesterday (7/14) that the county has reached the high transmission level for COVID-19 and indoor masking requirements are likely to return.

If the county remains at this high transmission level for two weeks, indoor masking requirements will go into place, with July 29 the expected date as this time, according to county officials, who indicate this is likely to happen based on current trends in metrics such as hospitalizations.

Once in place, the requirement would apply on our campus in indoor public spaces.

We will follow up with more information as we receive it. Please continue to be aware of COVID-19 symptoms as well as safety measures we can all take. Additional details on effective masks are available on the county public health web.
