Professor Karina Corona’s research program seeks to understand the circumstances in which cultural values, family relationships, and social support may be beneficial for psychological and physical health across people of diverse backgrounds. More specifically, her research focuses on the extent to which familism is generally beneficial or more beneficial when individuals are faced with stressful situations. In a second line of research, Professor Corona studies the possible ethnic variations found in emotional experiences such as gratitude.
