My name is Zachary and I’m a biology major in Pomona’s class of 2022.5 (was on leave this past fall semester, working at a COVID lab). I actually grew up in Claremont but attended an international boarding school in Germany for my last two years before college. I do plan to attend medical school after graduating, partly due to the fantastic classes I’ve taken, like Cell Biology and Animal Physiology. I also care deeply about ecology and the environment, and I am still trying to figure out a way to study abroad this year via a field research program! Weirdly enough, all my research experience at Pomona has been with faculty outside the biology department, but I would still love to talk with you about my adversarial collaboration focus group, VOC analysis for diagnostic testing, or geocoding health disparities in Brazil. You can also get me talking about hikes, crazy travel stories, The Good Place, and my awesome new corgi puppy.
