Celliola, the faculty ensemble of couple Cynthia Fogg (viola) and Tom Flaherty (cello), welcomes Karl Kohn, piano; Joti Rockwell, mandola; Rachel Huang, violin; and others to this year's annual concert. The program features music by Flaherty, Kohn, Maurice Ravel, Jack Van Zandt, Karen Walwyn and Mark Winges.
Celliola was founded in 1979 by Flaherty and Fogg, choosing the name – Celliola – as a blend of cello and viola. Since their founding the ensemble has premiered over 35 works composed for the duo, and have also commissioned many works. From solos to duets and pieces for chamber ensembles, their concerts are typically full of works written within the last five years.
