The Cornucopia Baroque Ensemble: Alfred Cramer and Lindsey Strand-Polyak, baroque violins; Aki Nishiguchi, baroque oboe; Carolyn Beck, baroque bassoon; Roger Lebow, baroque cello; Jason Yoshida, theorbo; Graydon Beeks, harpsichord offer an afternoon program of music by Handel and others. The ensemble was established in 2008 by colleagues in the Pomona College Music Department with the goal of exploring lesser-known byways of Baroque chamber music. The group typically gives 1 to 2 concerts each year.
The ensemble will be playing – on period instruments - trio and quadro sonatas by Handel and his contemporaries Johann Christoph Pepusch, Nicola Francesco Haym, Antonio Vivaldi, Christoph Schaffrath and Georg Philipp Telemann.
