Visiting conductor Jonathan Campbell leads the Pomona College Choir in John Corigliano’s Fern Hill, Daniel Pinkham’s Wedding Cantata and additional works by Gjeilo, Forrest and Weelkes.

The College Choir, under the leadership of Donna M. Di Grazia, boasts a membership of 70-80 auditioned singers with student, faculty, and staff representatives from Pomona College and the other members of the Claremont Colleges Consortium, as well as the surrounding community. Its repertoire includes Western classical art music from all historical periods, but with a focus on large choral masterworks. Recent and especially memorable performances have included Tarik O’Regan’s Triptych, Berlioz’s Grande Messe des morts, Mozart’s Mass in C minor (K. 427), Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem, and Mendelssohn’s Elijah. The Choir also regularly performs smaller unaccompanied works including those by John Tavener, Morten Lauridsen, Eric Whitacre and many others. The ensemble has also collaborated with the professional ensemble, the Millennium Consort Singers, in the premiere performances and recording of Tom Flaherty’s Water Ruminations and Lines of Reflection.
