The Pomona College Choir, Donna M. Di Grazia, conductor and the Pomona College Orchestra, Eric Lindholm, conductor are both highly accomplished and popular ensembles on campus. They will combine forces to offer a Friday and a Sunday performance of this program, under the baton of Eric Lindholm.
Joining the ensemble are soloists Melissa Givens (soprano) an assistant professor in the College’s Department of Music with an active performing career both in solo performance and with the Grammy®-winning ensemble, Conspirare; and Adrien Redford (baritone), a member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale and a Pomona College alumnus.
The Choir and Orchestra have collaborated on many memorable performances including Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances, Verdi’s Requiem, Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms, Berlioz’s Grande Messe des morts, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem and Mass in C minor (K. 427), Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Orff’s Carmina burana, and Mendelssohns’ Elijah.
The program repeats Sunday, April 21 at 3 p.m.
