An Unruly Assembly: The Culley Collection of Woodblock Prints

The first comprehensive presentation of the Culley Collection, featuring 187 works of woodblock prints that showcase the resurgence of the medium in European and American avant-garde movements in the early twentieth century.

This publication accompanies an exhibition organized by the Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College in Claremont, California. The catalog contains new photographs of works from the Culley Collection, a trove of rare woodblock prints by well-known artists such as Josef Albers, Rockwell Kent, Käthe Kollwitz, and Emil Nolde, as well as artists whose legacies deserve more attention, including Léonard Tsugouharu Foujita, Cecil Wray Goodchild, Moissey Kagan, and Emma Schlangenhausen.
