In conjunction with Line, Smudge, and Shade, Los Angeles–based artist Manuel Lopez will create a site-specific monumental wall drawing that will be on view at the Benton through summer 2026. The drawing, created on site in the museum’s galleries, will depict landscapes and scenes of daily life in East LA. As is common in Lopez’s practice, a title for the work will emerge as the mural nears completion.
