This event is produced in partnership with the SPAN189b course “Illicit Inscriptions” taught by Dr. Óscar Alain Ulloa, visiting assistant professor of Spanish at Pomona College
Join us for this celebratory event inspired by the daily joy that Latinx communities experience in the face of oppression. The afternoon and evening feature student presentations on works of art from the Benton Museum of Art’s collection followed by dinner and live music from Afro and Indigenous traditions.
Co-sponsored by the Department of English, the Department of Latin American Studies, the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, the Humanities Studio, Chicano Latino Student Affairs, and a Dean’s Office Wig Grant, all at Pomona College; the Department of Spanish, Latin American, and Caribbean Literatures and Cultures at Scripps; Modern Languages & Literatures at Claremont McKenna College; and the Intercollegiate Department of Chicano/a Latino/a Studies.
