All of Pomona's Orientation Adventure (OA) groups are scheduled to depart from campus tomorrow morning, including the four groups headed to Yosemite National Park.
Pomona's OA Yosemite groups, with a 55 students, will be based in Yosemite Valley's Housekeeping Camp, to the southeast. The Rim Fire is currently burning in the northwest portion of the park's wildness area. Of the Yosemite's four entrances, the Highway 120 west entrance, Big Oak Flat Road to Yosemite Creek, is closed. Highway 140, the park entrance via Merced, and Highway 41, the south entrance via Fresno, remain open. This morning's report is that air quality in Yosemite Valley continues to be clear and smoke free.
Pomona will continue to closely monitor the Rim Fire's impact on the Yosemite Valley. For up-to-date information, visit http://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/rimfire.htm.
