Pomona-Pitzer Football's Duncan Hussey was featured in the Los Angeles Times Sports section on Sunday, in a column that illustrates the balance between athletics and academics for some students at Pomona.
A fifth-year wide receiver, Hussey put off going to medical school for a year to attend Claremont Graduate University and return for his final season of eligibility. He opened the 2013 season by breaking the school record for touchdown receptions in a game, with four against MIT on Sept. 9. Hussey has played both defensive back and wide receiver for the Sagehens, including in the same game three times. One of those, against Occidental last year, saw him tally 13 catches for 218 yards and three touchdowns on offense, as well as five tackles, a sack and a pass deflection on defense.
The story, "For Pomona-Pitzer's Duncan Hussey, play charts and medical charts," was written by columnist Helen Elliott.
