Welcome Class of 1979!
We hope to see you at Alumni Weekend taking place April 25-28, 2024. It’s time to return to Pomona College to reconnect and celebrate our common bonds as Sagehens. Having you on campus with us will help make our 45th Reunion a success!
Online registration is now closed. A limited number of tickets will be available onsite and are available on a first-come basis. Registration is on Thursday, April 25 at 1 p.m. and Friday & Saturday, April 26–27 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Click here to see who has registered so far.
In addition to the Alumni Weekend schedule, your 45th Reunion Committee has organized some special reunion activities.
On Friday, join us for lunch at at 12p.m. Email Lisa (Prestwich) Phelps to reserve your spot. Lunch is pay on your own.
On Saturday at 10 a.m., we’ll have our very own Class of ’79 Tour of the Benton Museum of Art with Museum Director Victoria Sancho Lobis. Please see the “Where Is My Class?” section in the AW24 Schedule Booklet or check the AW24 event app for your class’s Saturday dinner location. There will be heaters, but you might want to bring a sweater or jacket for the evening. In case you have friends in the Class of ‘77, they’ll be nearby for their 47th reunion dinner.
On Sunday, join us for our final reunion event at the California Botanic Garden (formerly Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden) located at 1500 N. College Avenue. Following the champagne brunch, we can carpool from the campus if anyone needs a ride and then enjoy an informal tour. The garden is a delightful place to walk around and socialize with classmates. It displays an amazing collection of labeled native plants, which is an important resource for home gardeners. The ticket cost is nominal: $10 for adults and $6 for seniors (65 & older). The garden encourages you to purchase tickets in advance, or you can join us at the last minute and buy a ticket onsite. If you aren’t familiar with the garden and would like a preview, this blog post is a great introduction. Email Caryl McNeilly if you plan on attending.
Throughout the weekend, our Class Tent in Marston Quad will be a great place to hang out and gather together between activities. We hope to see you there.

- In honor our reunion, please join us in making a contribution to our Class Gift. Our goal is to reach 47% giving participation for the 45th reunion. We are currently at 16% participation which means we need 100 additional donors by June 30, 2024. Every gift, no matter the size, brings us closer to reaching our 47% participation goal.
