Fall 2020 Update

The Career Development Office (CDO) would like to clarify its access policies for students in light of the changes to operations for the Fall 2020 semester.
All current students, including those on voluntary Leave of Absence for Fall 2020, will continue to have access to:

  • Handshake
  • Career Advising
  • Consortium-wide Events
  • Recruiting Opportunities and Activities

*All of these services will be conducted remotely, online
For students on a Leave of Absence:
Previously enrolled students that are taking a voluntary Leave of Absence will need to contact the CDO to have their account reactivated. Once reactivated, they will be able to make appointments, attend events, use online resources and subscriptions, and participate in recruiting opportunities. They will not be eligible for CDO funded programs (including PCIP) or campus employment.

Please note, for those planning to graduate in Spring 2021, your leave of absence might impact your eligibility for summer 2021 internships or full-time hires for May 2021. Typically for internships, employers recruit in the fall and require that you are fully enrolled when you apply. For full-time jobs, if a leave of absence affects your graduation, it may disqualify you from some positions that have an anticipated start date of June 2021. Students should contact the recruiter to find out if their enrollment status will be an issue in applying for positions.
