The best evidence of the soundness of Pomona’s educational philosophy is the success of its graduates. Pomona alumni have served in positions of leadership in practically every field of human endeavor – from medicine, public policy, and the arts to scientific research, journalism, business, and the law, as well as almost every field of academic research and teaching.
In preparing and planning for their life after Pomona, students can lean on faculty mentors, a pool of successful alumni and a talented Career Development Office staff who are committed to their success.
Class of 2020 Plans
For the class of 2020, we had an 82% knowledge rate. Of that knowledge rate, 90% of those graduates are participating in career activities (such as a job, internship, service opportunity, graduate school, fellowship, or other specific activity). Alumni Outcomes
The Office of Institutional Research gathers data through surveys that helps inform the mission of Pomona College, including information about recent graduates and alumni who are five and 10 years out.
According to a recent survey of alumni, 81 percent of alumni were either pursuing or had completed an advanced degree within 10 years of graduating Pomona. While many work or pursue other opportunities before entering graduate or a professional degree program, many head straight there after graduation.
For the Class of 2020, some of the graduate/professional school destinations included: Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Duke University, Emory University, London School of Economics and Political Science, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, University of Cambridge, University of Miami, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Oxford and University of Pennsylvania.
