    Laurie Cameron is certified as both a Certified Movement Analyst (CMA) and Movement Pattern Analyst (MPA). In addition to chairing Pomona College’s dance program, Cameron also directs Laurie Cameron & Company, a performance group that has presented original works throughout Southern California, New England, and in New York, including the Hudson Theatre, Manhattan Movement Arts Theatre, and Joyce Soho Presents.

    Director, Laurie Cameron & Company, Performance of original works throughout Los Angeles area, New York, and New England since 2003

    Laurie Cameron and Company performed the original work “Swimming Upstream” at the Harvest Chicago Dance Festival, Chicago, IL, October 2010, and at the Assistance League Playhouse, Los Angeles, April 2010.

    2009 Performances included a work-in-progress “Explore, Intend, Commit” at Movement Research, Dance Theatre Workshop, NYC, “At the Joshua Tree” and “Hieroglyphs” at the Assistance League Theatre, Los Angeles, and “Swimming Upstream” at the Manhattan Movement Arts Theatre, NYC.

    Laurie Cameron performed “Floor Plastique” (c. 1917), choreographed by the Denishawn School, as part of a lecture demonstration by Robin Rice at the International Conference of the Sacred Dance Guild at Connecticut College, July, 2008.

    One of twelve companies (out of one hundred submissions) chosen for the 2007 Joyce Soho Presents series in New York, Laurie Cameron & Company performed their original work “We are John Doe.” Cast members included Daniel Senning ’00, Ashanti Smalls ’01, and Brendan Behan CM ’03.
