Equipment Checkout
The OEC has a checkout counter for equipment and gear. Gear is available for students completely FREE of charge. Equipment available for checkout includes gear for backpacking, camping, climbing, snow travel, biking, and water sports. View a full list of equipment here.

Gear Room & Lounge
The OEC is located in the sustainable Dialynas Hall (certified LEED Platinum) on Pomona's North Campus. Our space houses our equipment and gear checkout and storage room, and a library of 400+ outdoor education books and maps. The library includes how-to books on outdoor skills, leader development manuals, topographical trail maps, and guide books for certain areas. The OEC library and lounge is a great research area for students planning trips for OTL and for OEC staff planning trips for academic classes.
Support for Educational Trips
The OEC offers the expertise and logistics in trip planning to help organize trips in cooperation with academic departments on campus. This can include field trips for professors wishing to give their students a hands-on experience in the field, as well as encouraging professors to join trips planned by students. The OEC will also offer additional field study trips with environmental awareness groups and student groups.
Speakers and Events
The OEC hosts speakers from outdoor recreation organizations. The OEC also sponsors slideshows and lectures from recreation training companies, authors, and outdoor enthusiasts, and film screenings. Stay tuned for upcoming events!
