Research

Chuyu Tian’s research focuses on:

• Aristotle’s accounts of virtue, citizenship, the common good, and the relationship between ethics and political philosophy
• Aristotle’s moral psychology and action theory, and their connection to his ethical thought
• Buddhist philosophy, particularly Yogacara approaches to moral psychology and interpersonal relations
• Comparative ancient philosophy, bringing Greek philosophy into conversation with Indian Buddhist and Classical Chinese traditions on questions of ethics, mind, and the good life
