A Message From the Strategic Vision Committee

May 12, 2020

Dear Sagehens,

We are pleased to present you with the Strategic Vision for Pomona College.

When we began this process, we were specifically tasked with developing a document that would help us as a College community make decisions -- during the best of times and the worst of times.
By incorporating input from students, faculty, staff, and alumni, we have developed this vision for our Pomona now and our Pomona of the future. Along the way our committee conversations centered around three complementary themes -- Equity & Access, Flourishing & Inclusion, Transformative Knowledge & Creativity.

As you’ll see, the vision focuses primarily on the importance of relationships, something that not only has long been a hallmark of a Pomona education, but whose relevance is more important than ever in this time of COVID-19.

Over the next few years, specific projects will emerge as part of an implementation plan stemming from this vision document. This vision will also influence our next capital campaign, which will be launched several years from now.

The world in which we began this process now feels very different from the world in which we find ourselves today. What remains constant is our commitment to centering our educational mission around relationships. Indeed, we remain Pomona: a small place with a big impact.

Be well, be safe,

The Strategic Vision Committee
