A Commitment to Need-Based Financial Aid
Pomona College is one of a handful of institutions committed to meeting the full demonstrated need of all students who are eligible for need-based financial aid.
The Basics
- A student's financial need is determined after a careful review of each family's financial documents. We do our best to take into account each family's unique circumstances.
- For eligible students, the Offer of Financial Aid is composed of grant aid and a modest student employment allotment. While loans are available, Pomona does not use loans to meet a student's financial need.
Financial Aid Deadlines
Applying for Financial Aid
Prospective Students:
- Early Decision 1: November 15
- Early Decision 2: January 15, 2026
- Regular Decision: January 15, 2026
- Transfer Students: March 1, 2026
Returning Students:
- All returning students: April 15, 2026
Returning students who apply on time can expect to receive a financial aid notification in mid June.
For all students (Prospective and Returning):
All financial aid applications must be received by the last day to add a class for each semester. For fall this is usually in early September, for spring this is usually early February. Please refer to the Academic Calendar in the Pomona College Catalog for specific dates for the current academic year.
