Student Employment Eligibility

Employment Eligibility Not Restricted to Financial Aid Recipients

Pomona College offers campus employment to all students, regardless of financial aid status. Each student is granted a work allotment that can range between $1,150 and $2,300 depending on the student's level of financial need. Students who are recipients of financial aid are awarded a need-based student work allotment. This work award will appear on the student's Offer of Financial Aid. Students who do not have demonstrated financial need, or who may have an outside award that replaces or reduces the need-based work award will be eligible to earn up to $1,150 during the 2011-2012 academic year. To check your allotment on my.pomona.edu, please refer to the instructions in How-to Student Employment Information on the Portal [pdf] .

The Financial Aid Office awards and monitors work allotments and earnings throughout the year. Students are responsible for planning their work schedule in accordance with their work allotment. Regular notifications are sent to all students who have less than $300 left to earn through the work program, and upon reaching the awarded allotment, the student will automatically be terminated through the College Payroll system. Although requests for allotment increases may be submitted to the Financial Aid Office by your hiring supervisor, we cannot guarantee that such requests will be granted.
