Call it Sagehen submersion. Twice a week, first-year students participate in one of 30 Critical Inquiry (ID1) sections – intensive classes that introduce the new students to both the joy and rigor of academia at Pomona.
As Pomona College seniors prepare to slip into their graduation gowns and turn to an exciting new chapter of their lives, there is a big item on their to-do list that awaits a checkmark: senior thesis.
Tanner Byer ’17, Ziv Epstein ’17 and Nathan Sandford ’17 have each been awarded a Goldwater Scholarship, which provides scholarships to undergraduates who intend to pursue careers in math, the natural sciences or engineering.
