Beloved Neuroscience Professor Karl G. Johnson Passes Away

Karl G. Johnson, the Sara Rampel and Herbert S. Rampel Professor of Neuroscience who inspired students at Pomona College for nearly 20 years, passed away July 19. He won the Wig Distinguished Professor Award twice and led an active research lab.

Biology majors Thomas Amory ’27 and Max Distaso ’28 are spending their summer in search of radio-banded pelicans and studying American bullfrogs and two species of woodrat. They are among 241 students in the Summer Undergraduate Research Program.

Seven Faculty Members Receive Wig Distinguished Professor Award
