Dear Campus Community,
As part of Pomona College's ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing our campus environment, we would like to share an important update regarding the demolition of Oldenborg Hall.
Beginning Monday, June 15, demolition activities will commence at approximately 7:00 a.m. and continue during regular construction hours through 4:00 p.m. each workday. The project is currently scheduled for completion by mid-August, subject to weather and other unforeseen conditions.
The initial phase of work will begin in the northeast corner of the site adjacent to the Bridges Auditorium loading dock and will progress according to the planned demolition sequence outlined below.

What to Expect
Throughout the demolition process, members of the campus community may notice:
- Increased construction vehicle traffic in the vicinity of Oldenborg Hall.
- Elevated noise levels associated with demolition activities.
- Occasional vibrations typical of large-scale demolition operations.
The College and its contractors are committed to conducting this work safely and responsibly. Measures will be in place throughout the project to minimize impacts on surrounding areas, including:
- Secure construction fencing around the work zone.
- Debris containment systems to ensure materials remain within the project site.
- Dust-control and environmental mitigation measures.
- Ongoing monitoring to maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
