Pre-Enrollment Information for Fall 2025 Creative Writing

The courses below require permission from the instructor and a writing sample before enrollment:

ENGL080 - Intermediate Creative Writing: Poetry

ENGL183A - Advanced Creative Writing: Fiction

ENGL183B - Advanced Creative Writing: Poetry

7:00 - 9:50 p.m.

For Fall 2025, enrollment will be on a permission request (PERM request) basis. After submitting a perm request for one of the listed courses, the respective instructor will reach out to request a writing sample, if necessary. This process replaces the previous system, where you would submit a writing sample to the Academic Coordinator online or in person with a cover sheet. You will now submit your writing sample directly to the instructor if they request one.

If you wish to enroll in one of these courses, please follow these steps carefully:

1. Submit a Permission Request (PERM Request):
   Start by submitting a permission request for the course you want to join.
2. Instructor Will Contact You if a Writing Sample is Required:
   The instructor will reach out if they need a writing sample.
3. Submit Writing Sample Directly to the Instructor:
   If requested, provide your writing sample directly to the instructor. This replaces the previous process of submitting it to the coordinator.
