Ami Radunskaya Elected President of the Association for Women in Mathematics

Taking office Feb. 1, 2016, Dr. Radunskaya chose to continue to support women at all stages of their careers when she was elected president-elect of the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM). She will become president of the association in 2017, and will serve for two years. She says, the “AWM community will benefit from the recruitment and retention of talented young women who dream of doing mathematics for a living" and she asks that AWM members serve as role models and allies for girls who don’t realize that they can turn their enjoyment of puzzles and numbers into a career. One of her goals is to build a community for all types of mathematicians by paying attention to the needs of and supporting a unified network of members.

Congratulations, Dr. Rad!
