Senior Year Calendar 2020-21

Thesis Options

In all cases, sign up for Senior Seminar (190) in the fall.

1. Regular (“experimental”) thesis
   • Take 1 credit Physics 191E in the spring
   • April 5, 2021 (Mon.) - Turn in first draft to advisor
   • April 21, 2021 (Wed.) - Turn in full draft
   • April 28-29, 2021 (Wed.-Thurs.), Thesis presentations, typically 4-6 p.m.
   • May 5, 2021 (Wed.) – Final pdf theses due at 5 p.m.
   • ~May 5, 2021 (Wed.) – Possible virtual Senior dinner ~5 p.m.
2. Half-credit (“library”) thesis
   • Take ½ credit Physics 191L in the spring
   • April 5, 2021 (Mon.) - Turn in first draft to advisor
   • April 21, 2021 (Wed.) - Turn in full draft
   • April 28-29, 2021 (Wed.-Thurs.), Thesis presentations, typically 4-6 p.m.
   • May 5, 2021 (Wed.) – Final pdf theses due at 5 p.m.
   • ~May 5, 2021 (Wed.) – Possible virtual Senior dinner ~5 p.m.
3. 2 semester HMC Clinic
   • No additional thesis course is required in the spring, but instead you will prepare your thesis in the fall as part of senior seminar
   • December 1, 2020 (Tues.) – Thesis presentations 9 a.m.
   • January 19, 2021 (Wed.) – Final pdf theses due at 5 p.m.
   • ~May 5, 2021 (Wed.) – Possible virtual Senior dinner ~5 p.m.
