The Pomona College ombuds is an informal, impartial, independent and confidential* resource on campus for students, faculty and staff. We listen as you describe your concerns and help you identify key issues. We brainstorm with you to generate options. Then, if you wish to move forward, we coach you to effectively resolve your concern.
At our discretion and with your permission, the Ombuds Office can help surface concerns informally, but ideally, with coaching, you will confidently raise your own concerns.
The ombuds also helps promote change within an organization by sharing trending concerns, without identifying the individuals who have come forward. Confidentiality and anonymity will be preserved.
*The only exception to confidentiality and anonymity is if someone threatens imminent harm to self or another or if someone discloses specific information about child or elder abuse.
Communications with the Ombuds does not put Pomona College on notice of the communication.
