With the vast array of careers within the healthcare profession, Pomona College encourages students to first think about their own strengths, values, personality, and skills. Then, with those in mind, students can begin to explore many health career options to find their best fit.
To learn about different health professions, we suggest that students begin by researching websites, talking to or shadowing healthcare providers, joining service organizations and clubs, and/or volunteering.
The more engaged students become, the better they understand what is involved in a health career. Engagement also confirms interest and motivation for a career in healthcare and shows commitment to the profession.
